need hel with DTS and optical cables......and z 680 help

so i bought the z680's (logitech) and im very happy and have been using the cables which came with it (analog?). I was bored so i decided to buy optical cables to try out dts on some dvd's. I have an external sound card audigy 2 nx to hook them up to my laptop. Now i cant seem to get DTS to work on any movie which offers it. Am i missing something here? maybe my soundcard doesnt decode for DTS. Im not sure if anyone has any suggestions let me know. I know the z-680's can handle dts as it is on the control pod.

secondly for all you z680 owners, i was wondering which settings you use when watching movies, the stereo or the dolby pl2 movie section or maybe the 6 channel direct.....only wondering because the surround is good but it seems to lower the volume ability and limits the bass. With 6 ch direct, the sound of the bass is so perfect and heart stopping, but it looks like that just channels all sound evenly through the satelites instead of giving a true surround sound............thanx in advanced

marc

ok well in my update i finally figured it out......the problem was that the z680's were decoding the dts as well as the audigy 2 nx........that's a no-no in the digital world, so after playing around with options i shut off the decoder for the audigy and woo hoo it works.......i would just like to mention that i have never heard anything sound so good as the audio for kill bill part one in dts.........audio orgasm (feel free to use that term)
thanx alot for responding john
