Lesser performance after overclocking?

This is odd.

Overclocking both my FSB in bios and my video card via a built in utility have yielded less performance in games, although a higher performance in GLExcess testing.

It seems to be RAM that's holding me back, so I wonder if all the heat is taking it's toll...

be careful, i have crappy ram and crappy mobo. i tried to overclock and my mobo didnt like it... i underclocked my 1.6 gig system to about 1.3 i think.... i had to use a jumper to force it back to 1.6....

Its best to keep your vid card running at a multiple of the AGP bus.
I've had a few cards where underclocking them would yeild better results.
