WiFi Gaming Questions

It'd be great if I could get an answer for this, I've posted other threads and have gotten no replies.

I'm checking out a Motorola 802.11G PCI card, but have heard WiFi is bad for gaming because of the latency. I mostly do LAN, but online sometimes if I feel like it. Should I stick with wired for my desktop? My router is a Netgear WGR614.

Thanks

i game on my B wireless card all the time with no problems.

where you start running into problems is with interference and distance when you start losing connections.

Yeah I'd be within 20 feet of the base at all times, sometimes within 6'. I do have rare disconnections when our 2.4Ghz phone changes channels, but it doesn't happen often, and I have a 900Mhz in my room anyways.
