How to create log file using NAVDX in dos?

I am trying to create a bootable CD to use to scan several infected pc's for viruses. I am creating the cd with nero and using a bootable floppy with the correct files to make it bootable and putting virus definitions on it. Everything is working except for message "Unable to create the log file!". I have used NAVDX.exe switch /log:c:\navdxlog.txt. I couldn't think of anywhere else to put it and I don't want to watch it run for hours and respond to repair requests.
I have finally figured out that if I boot from the floppy and leave it NOT write protected if will create the log file on drive c:. I don't want to do this when checking for viruses. I think maybe the problem is in NAVOPTS.DAT but can't figure out how to change it and I can't find any info on symantec website.

Can anyone help me out? I would certainly appreciate it. I have spent hours on this already.

Thanks ahead of time.

There are already CDs out there to do just what you want. Norton System Works is bootable and you can scan from it.

I assume you have created the Bootable CD.. and are booting the computer from it. I am prob wrong.. but when you boot from the CD it may be assigning C: to that drive. or possibly it doesn't load the files it needs to see the C: drive .. files that you need to include on the Bootable CD and entries into the Autoexec.. and Config files?

You could modfiy the switch to be a:\navdxlog.txt and have a blank floppy in the a: drive? but to do that I guess you would need to reburn your Bootable CD.

Not much help from me.

Yes I can use Norton system works cd but then I don't have up-to-date virus definitions. I discovered that I can run navdx and redirect output to a file on c: and this works, but the output contains all files that were scanned and is 3 mb on my extra pc. I might have to live with that.

If there are other suggestions I would like to hear them.
