cant install windows update..help!

went on to microsoft windows update page to download the new security updates but cant install it. gave a warning that says the software i am installing does not pass windows logo testing to verify compatability to xp.
wuts up with that, m$ was the one who issued it for xp..wut to do?

sounds like your Cryptographic Services service is disabled. type services.msc into run. look for Cryptographic Services and right click go to properties. then go to where it says disabled and change that to automatic, then hit the button labeled start.

the Cryptographic Services is required for the windows logo testing thing to work correctly.

if your Cryptographic Services is disabled what caused it to be?
