Systems Administrator Logon Missing

I need to know how can I recover the Administrator logon. I am using Win XP Pro. I had the Aministrator and another User logon when I installed Win XP on my PC. Now my Administrator Logon is missing. I can logon to the computer with the other User logon but this User doesn't have Administrator rights. I try doing a System Restore........no luck. Does anyone know the cause of this problem in Win XP Pro and how can I get the Administrator logon back?

Help!

Start it in safe mode. F8 at the splash screen.
You'll see the Admin account for certain.
Then go to accounts/users in Control panel.
See if you can set it up again.

Or just try the Users/accounts in Control Panel in a normal boot.
See what the settings are.
Settings may have been changed.
No Windows OS's are really secure.
XP certainly isn't, regardless of MS's protestations.

Rusty.

Btw: Welcome to TIMO.

If you're just missing the administrator account on the welcome screen, go here (5th entry on right) and download the registry tweak that will restore it.

You could try this:

Select Run from the Start Menu, type control userpasswords2, and click Ok. Turn on the Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer option, and click Ok. If you have one user account and no password configured, Windows XP will log you in automatically. You could also obtain and install the Windows XP version of TweakUI. Open TweakUI (it's in Start -> Programs -> Powertoys for Windows XP). Expand the Logon branch, and click Autologon. Turn off the Log on automatically at system startup option, click Ok.

If you know your Administrator Password that you setup during the install then follow Rusty's directions.
Boot into Safe Mode
Select Administrator.. enter password..
Start > Control Panels > Users & Groups
Select your other account and make the necessary changes to your normal logon.

Note: Unless you tweak XP to show it on a normal boot.. the Administrator account is hidden. You can however make your normal logon and Admin account easily in the control panel.
