downsizing photos

right now all my photos open up larger than the screen, I want to set them all as a certain size, is there a way to select all the photos and do it as opposed to opening each photo by itself and resaving?

You can do batch resizing with http://irfanview.com/ or http://perso.wanadoo.fr/pierre.g/xnview/enxnview.html

another way is to increase the resulation of your monitor.
I see that a lot, useing a high resulation picture on a low resulation monitor.

In Irfanview you can set it to open all pics to the desktop resolution without actually resizing them all,of course it will do a batch resize too if you want

Did I mention it was free??

IRfanview seems kinda cool, especially for a free program. I still prefer to do my batch processing in photoshop b/c the interface is a little cleaner, but not bad for those who dont have it.

Only thing I didnt like was how all my batched jpegs came out kind of distorted looking, but the file sizes were so small I figure it musta been a setting somewhere that I was too lazy to find.

Nice link.
