Compaq price check

Here's my little situation, some might have seen my horrible thread about ghosting windows 95. The laptop is a compaq armada 1592dmt 133 mhz, 64mb ram I'm not sure what it's max ram capabilities are.

Anyhoot, due to an error on the original drive we cannot convert it to fat32 yaddayadda we decided it would be best to just start fresh, and in the process buy a newer laptop. The people we bought the new harddrive from obviously won't just replace it for cash because of such cricumstances, so they offered 100 instore credit, which we might use to buy the newer laptop. However i was curious, if we could just put the new hdd in the old laptop and put 98se on it, could we possibly just say, ebay the entire system for more than $100?

I understand they run a business and want to profit, but I am a consumer and want to save money lol.

And yeah, i know not only it's an old laptop, and a compaq at that lol, but i've seen some ads on 133mhz for 100 or more, just curious if anyone thinks it'd go for more on ebay, or if we should just take the instore credit.

Thanks.

You can easily get 100 to 500 for a laptop that is completely working. I would say put it out on ebay starting at 250. You will easily get that. You can start it at 500 and repost it if you do not get takers but I think you will. I am a reseller and I can tell you that people will buy computers for under 500 in a hurry especially if they are all working and a laptop.

Good luck.

I would be shocked if he could get $150 for it. You can pick up much newer machines for 300-500. I wouldnt even stop at a 133 for $50. IMO, it's a paperweight.
