thermal paste?

my new cpu is an intel 3.2 retail version that comes with a heatsink. do I still need to use a thermal paste when installing?

If you are using the retail cooler, then it will have a small thermal interface pad instead of requiring thermal paste. While this is not a great solution, the pad will work decently if you have no intentions of overclocking your processor.
