Career length for programmer??

Hey, I was just wondering, since computer science degree people these days can oftentimes make as much as $53,000 or even $60K+ straight out of college (provided you're good at it I suppose), well, like, what I mean is when you start to get like 35 years of age, does it become more difficult to find a job? I say this because since the young people have to be paid a lot in that field, older people are obviously going to want more $$$, and if a young person can do your (the older person's) job, won't they basically just go for the young people? Or is the idea that by the time you get to 35, you should by then hold a much more advanced knowledge of computer science than the 20-somethings, and thus can get a job or hold the job you have easily. Just wondering, since I am majoring in comp. sci and need to know these things.
