boot problem

Hi, I'm writing this in safe mode right now because my computer wont boot in its normal state. I'll describe the problem. Well my comp was working fine last night, and I went to turn it on the next day and it booted windows fine and my desktop shows up for about 5-8 seconds and then it restarts again and repeats the whole process over. The computer is working fine in Safemode and I havnt changed any bios settings lately. Any suggestions or help? Thanks for your time.

I have an asus a7n8x Deluxe with Windows XP, and a AMD 2500+.

Have your checked for viruses? Also, what programs are in your startup? To view that go to: Start<run: msconfig and to the startup tab. Look to see if there is anything unusual.
What have you changed in the last few days? For an online place to check for viruses, you can go to either:

Also, how hot is your computer running? What about your video card?

Have you updated any drivers,or installed any new software or hardware in the past couple of days? Could be that it has a conflict of some kind.

Could be a virus too.Have you ran an antivirus on it?

Maybe if all else fails you can restore it to a previous date.
