I believe you are talking about capacitors. If they are broken off, I dont even think its worth fixing. Maybe time for a video card upgrade. AIGHT.

Welcome to TechIMO, by the way.

Umm those battery looking things are called capacitors. From what you are saying, looks like the vidcard should be out of order. I would not spend the money to fix it, even if its possible. Dont try repairing it yourself as if you put the capacitors on backwards, they can explode or launch off there and cause an injury.
If I were you, I would have your relative pay for the damage and get yourself a new one.

Edit: Welcome to TechIMO!

A GF4 is an expensive piece of hardware to trash because a couple of busted caps. They're a fairly inexpensive part. Do you know anyone who has the skills to fix a little problem like that?

If you have the old capacitors (to get the value off of) take them and the video card to most any competent TV repair shop and have them replace the capacitors.

it will probobally be around the price if not more expensive to fix it than to buy a new one and that one would be a newer model now with the 6800 series out and the x800s coming out the prices of the 9x00 and 5x00 series will drop
