To my knowledge, the IE that is installed with the OS (i.e., IE4.0 with win98) will remain, and not uninstallable. But, you can upgrade it by simply installing a later variety, (I have upgraded Win98SE from IE4 to 5 then 5.5 and now 6.0). If you do not like the upgrade, I think you can uninstall the upgrade and go back to the original that was inplace when the OS was installed.

I know it used to be that way...as I had a heckova lot of problems way back when I upgraded IE 4 to IE 5..had problems and uninstalled IE5..I was back to IE4

Did you try the repair option? If not go to control panel/add remove programs/Internet explorer, highlight it click the add/remove tab and tick the repair option.

Aint that the truth!
Goes by all sorts of funny names these days.

But in the end it is Netscape, remember it? Sure it has been updated, of course!

Works spendidly well, much quicker, much better.
And about a tenth of the size of IE.

Agreed L+F ! Agreed! Rusty.
