I have gotten an email attachment in my hotmail email that I cannot read. It has an .email file name. I have Win2000 and 6.0 IE. Does someone know the program I need to read this email. Preferably a free one. Thanks.
Like Originel said it can be read by Outlook Express and its usually when someone who has Outlook Express forwards an email. Thats the only time I have seen them created.
Thank you originel and Undeadlord. I tried Outlook Express (I had the attachments part turned off) and can read the text, but it has a part that I think is a picture which I still cannot read. I copied part of it and it looks like this:
hmmm...that's actually very interesting looking. it's not a binary file, it's definitely ascii text (which means its not a picture). i don't know what it is tho, maybe a hash or seed? anyways i don't think it's important
I think and this is a big think from my Usenet days, that, that is a UUEncode or something like that, basically another way of encoding data for email transfer, one I never understood how to work.
If you take all of that gobbledy-gook, and move it over to a text file(.txt) then download this program and have it convert it. You'll know if it's a UUEncode file or not.
