virus

Hi,

I had a serious problem here, I got an error msg from mcafee virus protect saying there is a virus. virus name w32/pate.b.tmp
located at c:docume~1\ira\locals~1\temp/ssa1.temp

mcafee errormsg was to delete the file which I found in that directory but I could not delete it msg said denied file could be in use or something like that.
right now I am on another computer to contact you guys
Anyone know how to remove the virus.

As nomaxim pointed out, the removal instructions are posted at McAfee's website along with the virus description.

Make sure you have your McAfee scan engine and *.dat files updated, and then follow the instructions. Make sure you read the part about WinXP and WinME if you are using one of those operating systems. Should be all there is to it.

Thanks for the info guys, I will try that hope it works. Nomaxim and Target are the best and I will let you know if it works I would hate to have to reinstall xp its a pain.
