2500+ and GA kt600 L

I have a 2500+ a GA vt600 L MOBO and I can't seem to get it passed 1972Mgz. I also have 512 of 3200(Mosel) ram, MX440 video card(128) and my temps are now at 43(cpu). Might it be because of the ram, heat or Mobo or something else that I can't get pass this point? And yes my 2500+ is locked.

which means you can only up the FSB, correct? You have agp/pci lock on? Have you tried raising the CPU voltage?

That's correct, I can only up the FSB and I didn't know we could lock the agp on this board. Yeah I also played with upping the Vcore with very little success.

Have you tried to up your FSB to 200, leaving voltage alone? Usually will work and your bios will detect it as a 3200 Athlon XP and run at 2.2 Ghz.

Yeppers and it didn't even act to want to start at that FSB. Do you think it might be my ram? I'm just trying to narrow it down.

what is your FSB at now, and do you have access to your multiplier? According to some specs i read, your board has limited overclockability, so not sure if you can raise the multiplier and lower the FSB to achieve a higher Ghz. Your board might be limiting your affectivness on overclocking do to some of your pci cards may not be able to take the high FSB . Upping the FSB ups everything else also.

No I can not change the Multiplier, And right now I'm running at 180 fsb 1983Mhz. But if I try to play Quake 3 she'll lock up. Everything else is running fine. I checked my CL of my ram and its running at 3.0 3-3-6 when I tried to change the CL to 2.5 it locks up.

my thoughts would be your agp card may not be able to handle the higher FSB, I really don't think it is the mem as the speed of your mem should be able to handle 200 FSB as i was running generic DDR333 when i ran my 2500 Barton, granted it was unlocked, but i just set my FSB to 200 and it ran it as a athlon xp 3200. What other pci cards are you running? They to could have an effect on your system locking up. Can you up the voltage to the AGP card,CPU, and mem to see if it will boot? My opinion is if your having this much trouble, it might be worth it to just keep it where your stable.

i have a question regarding my proc aswell.

I can set the mobo to have it as a 3200 but after a while of gaming the comp flashes a big ass blue screen and something about being shut down and it reboots.

This is after a half hour or so?

I wouldnt have though it was getting too hot. I have a JEt 7 cooler AS5 and and intake fan on the front and side panel. Also an exhaust fan.

Its at 2500 speeds right now and according to the mobo is at 32 C

The mobo is an NF7S
1GB pc3500 ram
5700 ultra

...

edit: the system is now at 3200. Im running UT2004 demo in the background. So 100% cpu usage. Ill see how long it lasts. And try to get more of the error. :P

I would love it to be just the AGP card, I Have a MX440 and would love to get something better, and what a good reason to replace it....So I can overclock! :-) And I'm not running any pCI cards The only one in there is a modem but I use broadband.
