Veiwing photo off a CD

My dad and I have the same OS windows XP home. When I veiw my photos off a cd I get the bar on the left side which says "picture tasks" but his does not have that.
He shows a picture tast bar if he veiws pictures from the my picture folder but not off a CD. It is a nice task bar because it allows you to veiw a slide show quickly. How can I set that tast bar up?

Open up the folder on his PC. Click on tools in the folder at the top, then click folder options at the bottom, and select Show common tasks in folders (its the first one), then click apply and ok. Did that solve it?

Oh, and also you can try opening up the cd folder and right clicking in the white space in the folder and click view>filmstrip
or if thats not there, click view thumbnails

Heres a 'Thumbnail' example:

If none of my suggestions worked, you can take a screenshot of what you mean on your computer when looking at pics on cd, and post it here and I will help on how to fix it. To take a screenshot of your computer screen, press "Prt Scrn|Sys Rq", on the keyboard once you have the screen that u want to copy open. and then open paint in programs>accesories and paste it in there then save it as a jpeg and post it here. Since im not 100% sure what you mean. If im thinking right, the first post should of fixed what you were trying to do.

right click on the folder and select properties. Then goto Customize and for the folder type make sure its "photo album"
This allows you to use the filmstrip capabilities as well as pictures tasks such as a slide show.

---edit---

Hmm, that prolly wont work for you once the CD is already burnt, but you could just goto the "autoplay" section of the CD properties and select "Images"

no, his problem is there isnt a left side bar to begin with which is what he said. Follow my first post and that will fix the problem.
his dad is using classic folders. Needs to follow my steps to get the sidebar back in.

well, he said it shows the sidebar in "my pictures" which by default is setup as a photo album, but not anywhere else. If he had classic folders the my pictures would be without the bar as well I think.

Either way, one of the 2 solutions should work for him regardless of what the problem actualy is
