I do fine with a couple hundred gigs, but if you need that much storage space then go for it. Hard drive prices have dropped so much in the last year that these should be commonplace in a few months.

Wow! Impressive. Although I think 1 Terrabyte is too much for me. Isnt 1 Terrabyte the same as 10,000 Gigabyte? Anyways amazing that they could make such a big hard drive external.

1,000 gigs.... with games taking up 5.5 gigs by themselves, im sure that they will be getting larger and larger faster and faster

blah, it's all about 20gb solid state storage with transfer rates of upto 8gbps. Plugs derectly into ram slots. The L store has em for only $5000

i would rather the external 1000 gigs for $1200 than internal 20 gigs for $5000.....

Eh, I still havent filled my 80GB hard drive yet. Once I do, then we'll go from there.

I'm sick of drives getting larger. Hard drives are one of the slowest thing in the computer besides optical drives... MAKE THEM FASTER!

You got that right Joker. I never pass 40GB in my current 160GB hard drive. I got one this big because of the price, it was much more worth it spending a few more bucks for much more gigabytes.

my only question/concern is how big is the drive after being formatted under windows (i believe formatting under linux is very effecient)
I have seen people on our school network "sharing" around 200gigs of stuff... but thats about it... random stuff... oh well, just my $.02
