Kids System help

A buddy of mine picked up a new video card the other day.
ATI 9600XT

Here's the problem...he powers up with the new card in and gets a double beep. PC dosent fully boot up with the new card.

He tried his old and it worked fine. (G-Force 64bit)

Wondering if its the card or PC cant power it.

His system spec are:
-AMD Atholon 1.4
-Abit KG7 Lite-VIA (AGP 4x)
-256x2 RAM
-480w PS

Thanks for any help.
-Herb

Did he uninstall the old drivers? He needs to set the old card as Windows Standard VGA, uninstall the detonator drivers, shut down, swap cards, then follow the ATI installation procedure on startup.

Remember with VGA cards that "firmly seated" means just that. You've really got to get that sucker into the slot.

"Ill talk to him in abit."

?? you mean there is a language called "abit" now?? when did I miss this development??

j/k, lol.

by any chance does the card have one of those extra connectors on it that needs to be connected straight to the power supply??
