Replacing The Heatsink and Fan

I am building a new computer and just picked up a Radeon 9800 Pro and thought it could use some extra cooling. So I just ordered a Thermaltake Chipset and VGA Cooler Extreme Giant III. The only problem is that I don't know how to get the current heatsink off the video card. I have never done anything like this before.

Also, is this a good product for cooling? I have not got my processor yet and I am still thinking about what type of heatsink and fan to use with it. So is Thermaltake good quality when is comes to cooling?

Here is the webpage for the VGA cooler.
http://www.thermaltake.com/coolers/chipset/a1919.htm

Thanks,
Matt

Thanks for those links. Has anyone here installed a Thermaltake Giant III on a Radeon 9800 Pro? Will the shim described in the first link above cause probems with instaling the Giant III? If so, what do you suggest that I do? Try to remove the shim, or what? Thanks for the help.

I just changed my Geforce 3 HSf so I can help a little. First I had two one dead and other the G3. So I tested both seemingly commen ways. To see which was better. The dead one I put in a zip lock baggy (like if it was good) then in freezer for about 3 hours. The G3 I put in pc and played some BF to heat it up a bit. The fan was noisey but not totally dead yet. After about 1 hour of BF with good res and detail setting (more heat). I shutdown, turned off power strip and yanked card quick, case cover was already off. Then I took my one hand and held card by the bracket. With my right hand I pushed my middle finger against ramsink and gripped HS with other finers then pulled/pryed a smidge. It did take a little force but not tons. The card never even creaked. It came right off then. When the card was cool it wasnt coming of no matter what I did..........The one in freezer. It came off too. But it wasnt nearly as easy. Seems heating it ergo softening the thermal materieal helps more then freezing it ergo making the materials contract and seperate, it doesnt ever soften though but just the opposite.
