I did the windows update for windows xp and now all of my text is super small? I went into the settings and changed all of them to larger sizes but it doesn't change the size on everything? I may need to get some glasses if I don't fix this. HAHAHA

I also have another question this one maybe more complicated...

When I hooked up my new DSL, I went through a bad virus situation when I first went to sign on before I could do anything at all I would have 5 virsues, I have since fixed that by reformatting and put on a firewall before I added the dsl. My question is my computer still shuts off by itself.... I don't seem to have a virus.....any thoughts? Could something have gotten damaged from all of the reformatting and viruses?

Thanks

Is there a way to set the monitor settings to default?

I guess I should have also said that I have an ATI video card.

Are you talking about the size of the text in IE? If you are and you have a wheel mouse, you can hold "Ctrl" and move the mouse wheel down. That should increase the text size. Or just go to "View" --> "Text Size" --> and choose a larger size.

Everywhere...... I have gotten the size in the desktop and icons larger in the desktop settings but on the web the sizes is small. I had a problem with my computer shutting down so I thought I would do all of the updates and when I did the size of everything got really small. IT has got to be about a size 6 right now as I type this to you

I am still not sure why it is shutting down by itself, that was why I did the updates to start with?

Why don't you start another thread for the shutting down problem and maybe we can help you out?

[EDIT]: Include system specs and what your doing when it turns off.

naz,

It sounds like you need to just change the resolution on your ATI card, to use fewer pixels.

Right click on the desktop, click properties, click settings, and adjust the slidebar to a different setting (I use 1024 x 768).

The update probally got you video card working properly, and defaulted to a higher resolution than you're used to.
