Can I use z640's with my P4P800 MOBO?

I have an Asus P4P800-Deluxe mother board with 2.8c INTEL, and 512mb of ram. I just ordered the Logitech z640's and I am not sure how to hook them up. I only have the onboard sound that came with my motherboard. It has the line in, microphone, and line out. Is there some way that i can convert my onboard sound to work with this 5.1 sound system?

It can work with all the speakers playing, but you won't have actual 5.1 sound. There might be a switch someplace that makes it into a phantom 5.1 then you just by connect the single output from your mobo. Wait till you get them and then see what the directions say. Logitech is usually has decent instructions and quick setup guides.

If your P4P800 is capable of 5.1 surround sound, then you would hook up the front speakers to the line-out (green), the rear speakers to the line-in (blue) and the center/subwoofer to the Mic-in (red). Then you will need to go into your settings and change them to what you have plugged in.

HTH.
