Painkiller retail *HUGE* problems...
Check their forums on Painkiller Community for a list of drives that this game will not work in. This game is not compatible with all drives, and the list keeps growing. They are blaming it on the copy protection. The older drives are just not compatible with SafeDisc 3.20.022. Some of the drives are less than 1 year old. Instead of fixing it they expect everyone to purchase a drive that is compatible. Any burning software like Alcohol, Daemon tools or other virtual drive software installed on your compuetr, the game will not play unless the software is removed.

Hehehe...
You know what companies should do?
They should bring back the old Copy Protection methods like :
Look in page 47 on the manual and complete the sentence:
"We kick ___ ".
Or maybe they should bring back the old wheels.!
Remember those?

Easy answer is to not buy it. If it doesn't sell, they will stop doing this junk.

I'm with eagle on that one. I still remember Gunship2000. Everytime I reinstalled the manual would tip-toe away from me for a few days.

Congratulations, you can now play your (our, sorry, it IS only a licence and not a sale of goods) game....once you have bought a new cdrom and removed any non approved software from your system |

Just read the gamespot take on it also.
If you read the forum on the painkiller website, there are more and more drives popping up all the time. I guess dreamcatcher didn't take into account all the re-badged cd-rom's out there either.

| Well, they are trying to do something to TRY and eliminate (or lower) piracy. It just didn't worked.
I think they should get back to their old methods.!!!!!
Really, I'm not joking!!
I think they are even more useful!
