Monitor Problems

I have a pavilion 3515 and the video is gone really bad, sometimes it seems like is missing a color maybe red and then sometimes you'll get all the colors but with pink stripes all over the screen and the background will go green...is there anybody who can help me with this? I 'll appreciate any help

It sounds like your monitor is going south.
If you can, try another monitor on your computer. Borrow one from a friend if you have too .If the symptoms disappear, you need a new monitor.

Cheers!

Also, check the cable that goes from the monitor to the PC and make sure it is secure.
Check for any bent pins on that cable also.
Just in case!

Sometimes a loose cablw will do that. If that aint it, one of the color guns is failing. Monitors (exept LCD) are really cheap. Time for another.

HP machines are Proprietary, but not THAT much.

Any monitor will be recognized as a Plug and Play device, and work with Windows drivers.

A new monitor may have an install disk with better drivers, however.

As Beemer said, get your hands on a "known Good" monitor and see if it fixes the problem.
