UT2K3 and Linux

Ok, I've got 2 questions. Bear with me since its 4am (est) and I'm a bit out of it.



Anyways, I spent the better part of the evening installing Fedora Core Yarrow. Everything went ok, and UT 2k3 installed without a hitch. The problem is (from what I read anway), I dont have the right X server to run it. The readme mentions something about not having an Xi Graphics X server then the game wont run. What can I do to remedy or get past that?


Question 2, what is the best linux distro for games? I'm not much of a hardcore gamer, but I'm bored, and I've got blank discs, a fat pipe, a spare PC, and a few games to try on it.

open up a terminal and type glxgears, if your video drivers are setup right it should show 1k or more fps, ~300 if you dont. Just to make sure you have hardware rendering enabled.

I use Xandros, just because everything is very simple, they do all the work for ya, but everything is a few versions behind. Nice switching distro though. I wanta try fedora just dont have the time.

What card are you using?

I think its a ATI Rage 128 pro. I know its a 32mb card, and its also an AGP card.
