Vaio System Recovery/ setting up the partitons

Okay my sisters vaio pcv rx741 came with two partitions, c and d. The C is 15 gb and the D is 45 gb. I dont know why D is bigger but whatever. Okay, so she ran out of room so I thought I would run the system recovery disks and just delete the partitions but the program makes you keep both partitions and will only let you set the C drive from like 8 gb to 30 gb, no larger. So Im kinda stuck.

Thanks in advance.

I had a Sony Vaio pcv 640. The Sonys are VERY proprietary. Have
you tried to change the partition through the disk manager?
If that does not work you just might be stuck.

Yes I have tried the disk manager, nothing. I think I will just have to buy partition magic or does anyone know any free programs?
