is there any possible chance you dl'ed the wrong driver?
or are you saying it uses some sort of auto search feature??

there is a link there where it searches to see what Creative component you have http://dmzweb3.europe.creative.com/u...r_identify.htm

is there a "CT" or "SB" number on the card?

some instructions http://dmzweb3.europe.creative.com/u..._driver_xp.htm

how did you go about trying to install the driver? maybe you shouldnt try the auto install type feature..instead just unzip the driver to a folder and go about it that way..by clicking "update driver" and pointing to the folder

Misc Solution

Thank-you to everybody's help.The Audigy card's bios was
removed by a voltage problem from abit motherboard before my
present board.I found the solution on the Creative web site. The
card is being sent to Creative for a new bios.Thank-you Phil
Lenihan.
