Kids FarCry Driver

I have far cry and an Ati r9800XT, amd64bit3000+, 1gigddr400
and was wondering which is the best catalyst driver to run the game, i have the latest but for some reason i dont know why, there seems to have a very slight slowdoen some times even in 1024x768 resolution. the sloww down happens when i move to an area or move the mouse to look somewhere else and it will have a slight (SLIGHT) slowdown that i can still see and franlky it annoys me especially with my powerful machine. Does anyone know if this thing is normal or is it that i need to do something else? oh by the way i have activated vsync and dropped the resolution to 1024x768 from the initial 1152x864. Please tell me wahts up?

The newest one, v4.4 i think, has a fix for Far Cry, although I think that was just for the demo version, and you should probably use the newest one anyway.

Does that mean that a few slowdowns is normal? even with my ssytem and a 256mb graphics card? or do i have to wait for a game customised specifically for ati cards like hl2?

Well i have heard that Far Cry is pretty taxing even on a powerful system like yours. ATI.com has alot of their old drivers hosted on their site, try a few different ones and see if any of them help. ALso make sure that your far cry game is updated with the latest patch.

Yes. And even more if you have all the goodies turned on (FSAA, Aniso filtering, bla bla bla).

So...no such thing as a perfectly smooth and perfectly playable game on PC? wont there ever be a game on PC that is as smooth in gameplay with good gameplay as on consoles such as the XBOX?

Iv got farcry running at 1280 x 1024 ,32 Highest everythink within the game and am running between 25fps lowest to about 69fps. I was getting slow down at even lowest settings so I dissabled my virtual memory as it was fraged up and defraged my HD renabled virtual memory and its running great. This tells me that I need more memory currently have 512 DDR 3200 and beleave this game needs 1gig as specified in the manual for the highest settings.

1 Note I tryed Cat 3.7, 3.8, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4 drivers and 4.4 gives me lower scores in Aquamark 3 by 1000 points but has no effect in farcry at all.
