Systems media files freezing :(

hello techimo...

a new problem issue has arrived with my comp again

whenever i click a file associated w/ media wether it be mp3, wma, wav, or whatnot, my system just hangs there for a while, then returns to normal.

it is very hard for me to access all my media files now, does anybody have a clue whats wrong??

well you can try and use a codec pack, like the one codec pack from gordian knot......

and if that doesnt work, just check for viruses, spyware, and adware.

well... i dont even have to open the file... these files worked before ... but for some reason, its not working anymore

i have scanned for everything, it all came up negative.

you could try copy and pasting the files to a different location, sometimes i have to do this for some odd reason.

Have you tried using a different media player to play the files?

ok, problem solved... i downloaded QuickVCD, to view a vcd i had... i uninstalled it because it was worthless...

but i remembered when it installed it, it said that windows media player needed to be installed...

what i think happened is that the program made some changes to windows media player, and after i deleted it, it didnt undo the changes.

so.... i just reinstalled it, ill just leave it there and have it sit.

i would rather do that than reformat!
