Socket A Heatsink on a Socket 7 CPU

Hey all,

I put my old Socket A heatsink that I used for my AMD CPU on an old P166MHz Socket 7 CPU to replace it.

It fits on there really good, and is just the right size.
Is there any problem with doing this?

well, i think, as long as it is snug and seems to be cooling the cpu right, i see no problem.

It should work as long as it's secure.

Should work ok. Some of the heatsinks advertised that it fits socket As, socket 7s, and socket 370s. Bet that heatsink cooled your P166 real good.
