Microsoft Windows Security Update CD

I just received my CD ROM from Microsoft today. But, I am not exactly 100% sure of what I have. The only info I can find anywhere is that it contains all critical updates "through October 2003". Does this mean that SP1 is included for the XP operating system? If I reformat, do I need to install SP1 and then install whatever is on this disk or just install contents of CD if SP1 is included?

Thanks

SP1 is included along with the rollups (critical updates). Also theres directX 9b and WMP9 on the CD. In order to install the critical updates, the CD requires you to install SP1 first.

It also includes a CD with an Antivirus trial for 1 year I think, and also a free firewall. As mensioned, it also comes with SP1, and many other Microsoft related programs.

Thanks everyone.

I threw the AV and firewall CD away. Much better products available, I'm sure.

I have also just received my M/S update CD. My vers. of WinXP Home has SP1 on it.
So....can I safely delete all of the downloaded HotFixes
(in Add/Remove) until Nov.2003?
