Thinkpad T23 - what model is it? 2647 or 2648

Can anyone tell me how to determine which model of T23 i have? What is the difference between the 2647 and the 2648 models? I want to upgrade the memory. I went to the Crucial site and it lists both models and both models use different memory modules. At the Mushkin site only 1 module was listed and didn't care which model of T23 I have.

I want to get it right the first time.
Thanks,
cstierhoff

Sorry - no stickers on the bottom. I bought it used on Ebay and the internal serial # stored on eprom has been erased.

Any other suggestions?

you may or may not want to hear this, but in all likelihood that laptop you purchased was stolen. removing serial and model numbers by scraping the sticker off and wiping that information from the bios are clear signs that tampering was done to prevent identification since these two pieces of information are used by ibm to track reported laptops that were stolen.

AFAIK, the only remaining way to identify which model you have would be to open the case and get the s/n off the system board.
