New Mobo Doesnt boot xp

I gotta head a couple hundred and decided to spring for a new mobo(GA-7N400PRO2) and a dvd-rw. i had a Giga-byte GA-7DXE It was a great mobo but I need to upgrade anyway for DOOM III and HALF LIFE 2 so I got the new mobo in and hooked everything up jumpers set and all. It still searches for a Raid device even though I am not using it. It gets to the Boot XP in safe mode, other modes, and normally, so I select normally and I see the 1st sight of the xp loading screen and it rebooted everytime i try to start xp it reboots even in safe mode it freezes and reboots.

my setups are:

GA-7N400PRO2
AMD Athlon 2400+ Thorughbred
ATI 9200 128mb 8X
2x256 Kingston Ram
SB Live!
WD 40gb
WD 160gb
TDK 52x24x48x
Lite-On 8x4x8x4x12x

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

Did you re-install Windows XP or are you trying to run your old configuration?

I had this problem as well when I switched my motherboard the other day so I just did a fresh re-install of XP and no problems... I would recommend you do this anyways.. if others have an idea that would be cool.

A major hardware change like a new motherboard requires a fresh install of Windows XP or a lot of digging and deleting of drivers.

Sorry, but it's the best way to eliminate the headaches that you're experiencing now

sometimes you can just boot to the XP cd...skip the first "R"..and then it'll see that you already have windows installed so you choose the second "R" to "repair" the existing windows install

There should be something in the BIOS or a jumper on the board somewhere. Check your manual.
