I have a used IBM , windows 2000 system. I can get into windows however how do I disable all of the system administrators settings from the previous owners. bought at a distress sale from company. can I get administrators out setting off?NTFS file system????

and you do not have the password right

a format and reinstall is in order.
they cannot sell the computer with a nos installed.
and you do not have the liceness for that os.
so your obligated to remove it and install one that you own

Yes i do have the password to get into windows. They have provided this to me so I can get to the windows. However, The admin's setting restricts me from other actions, such as downloads and or changing the regedit.

well then you must be on a limited account. you need the account with admin privileges.
