xine crashing

Hey guys,

i just installed xine and am trying to play a movie. WHen i open xine and basically click a button or a mouse button it crashes my system and sends me back to the user log in screen for redhat. Anyone have a similiar problem. The only time i got past a click was the first time when i opened xine up i was able to play the first 2 seconds of the movie before it cute me off. Any help would be awesome. Thanks in advance guys.

Does this happen only with Xine, or other media players as well?

Xine has been known to crash X depending on an endless list of variables and dependencies. How did you install Xine -- precompiled binary or from source?

Also, have you tried mplayer instead?
