Game Installation

Hi all,
I am playing XIII and I am in the 8th level. I want to reinstall my OS. Is there any way I can backup the save data ( I mean 8th level ) so that when I reinstall the game I don't have to play from the beginning.Same thing for Call Of Duty also.

in your program files/*whatever game here* there should be a folder called Save or Saves, just copy that to a disk/someother media and reinstall windows, reinstall the game then copy the saves folder back over.

some game will put the saved game data in your profile folder under c:\documents and settings.
