Reccomend me an mp3 player

Hello,

I used to have a Samsung mp3 player that was 128mb. I liked it a lot, despite the somwhat larger size. Recently a moron on my tennis team thought it would be cool to mortar-style throw my backpack 10 feet in the air. Not to mention my laptop being damaged, my mp3 player was crushed.

He is going to replace it, but my mp3 player is no longer available. I am looking for a 128-256MB mp3 player that is small, gets good battery life, and isn't any more than around $150, although I may be able to go a little higher. I have my eye on the Samsung YP55V, but am open to any opinions. Thanks in advance.

I like the iPod but the price is probably to high. I don't recomend the Rio Volt line because of their flimsy case.

If you are talking about the Samsung Yep devices I am thinking of, then yes they are good players.

How about the Creative Nomads? Creative's units have gotten good reviews, and should be in your price range. I take it you don't want a CD/mp3 player, otherwise I'd recommend the TDK Mojo 620, which I would probably get if I listened to more than just the occasional track.

Edit - keep a watchful eye out for iPod Mini's, they are probably too expensive but remember.... eBay is god.

i've never used one, but rca lyra's RD1071 128 mp3 player seems good, and is pretty cheap, and really small. i think sells around 60-70 USD on ebay

Creative Nomad Muvo's are NICE... and untouchable. wont have the breakage again.

100 for 128MB at your local wal mart, online can be cheaper. check out the MX model of that too... (with an LCD display)

I would say MPIO, its a brand that nobody has heard of but they are good. I have a 256MB one that performs great. One AAA battery powers the unit for around 11 hours. Sound is great. I have one for sale if your interested as I just upgraded to an iPod. Good luck on your search, PM me if your interested in mine.

Seeing that you're around people that like to throw your stuff around, the ipod would be perfect for you despite it's price.
