New mail Acct. keeps trying to dial old service

Win2kPro with IE6

Just setting up DSL service and e-mail. I set up the new account and made it default, but only receives on new pop server, doesn't send on new smtp. Outlook keeps trying to dial-up to the previous service for out-going mail.

Is there a separate place in Outlook's account properties to set the default smtp server?

TIA - Rande

You should be able to delete that account in outlook to take care of that problem. (if it is one you still need, make it again and it should configure the mail service with DSL in mind)

call the isp and ask for help...that is what they are there for and they usually can fly thru this stuff cuz thats all they do all day long.

I'll delete the old acct. first and see what happens. I agree in principle with letting the ISP help out but they're such a pain to deal with sometimes that I am willing to try out all other options on my own before I come to that.

Thanks to you both for your help.
