Ati 9800 pro SMARTGART

Hey whenever i try to set it to 8x it says i need to restart and after that it goes back to off. How can i get it to stay at 8x agp?

What mobo do you have?

I have a DFI LanParty NF II Ultra B and 8x wouldn't work with my 9800 non-pro. But then I installed the newest drivers for the mobo and it went to 8x just fine.

So just reinstall or install the newest drivers for your motherboard and it should work.

I have a gigabyte GA-7VT600 where can i get the newest drivers for it?

Mine did the same thing and I installed that latest mobo drivers as said above and all was ok. It was the AGP Gart drivers that did it.

If I'm not mistaken it has the VIA KT600 chipset, that means that you need to use the VIA 4in1 drivers:

Yes you need the VIA Hyperion 4in1 drivers.

Had the same problem, just update your motherboard with the latest driver, I also updates the BIOS, just in case. Worked perfectly. HTH's
