Outdoors connection problem

I have a db in access with a front and back end on the server that connects to another db named Clubworks. We changed from NT to windows 2000 and know a certain button doesn't work on almost all the computers but 3 do work. This button gets data from the clubworks db. This button used to work fine on every computer until we installed 2000 it's weird that it only works on a few and not the rest. The 2 db's are connected by a dsn link. I looked at references on the offending machines and they were the same, I tried installing a different version of the mdac files but that didn't help, When I try re-linking the tables on the offending machine it asks for a data source and I select the dsn link created and it says "ODBC connection failed" but on my computer that is working fine when I re-link the tables it re-links fine and doesn't even ask for a data source. This problem has been killing me for 2 weeks and I can't seem to figure it out. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
