Answer file for installation

I don't know what information is needed, so this is just generic.

How would I go about creating an anwer file for installing a software?

Does one need to know the installer used (like installshield, msi or whatever)?

It would, naturally, be used for automating installation of specific software.

If using an software installation created with InstallShield: run setup -r to record your installation choices. After the install, there is a setup.iss in the windows folder, this file can be used as an "answer file". Next time you run setup you can use setup.exe -s setup.iss to apply the "answer file"

The particular software I want to create answer file is made with WISE installation wizard or whatever.

I didn't quite understand what you said DVNT1

//edit:
I found this ->
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.p....html?rev=1.30

Which says that /s is used for silent installation, that's fine, but I assume silent installation uses the default options, they are incorrect for me.

There're the command line switches from wise, gathering from that, I don't think one can create an answer file for wise through normal means. I guess some 'administrator' software is required.
Blah I say.
