g400 support t&l

hello all

i having a bit of trouble finding out if my g400 can support t&l?
if it doesn't is there anyway i can add the support or emulate it.

i am also a bit confused about the actuall specification of my graphics card as the device properties says it is a 32bit 4speed g400. but the only g400s i can find on the net are the dual head g400 or the 16mb g400mlx.

thank you

jon

The Matrox G400 never supported T&L. It was out during the same kind of time as the 3dfx Voodoo3, nVidia TNT2 and S3 Savage4 and hence perhaps the most advanced feature it had was Environment Mapped Bump Mapping.

They are correct. G400 does not support TnL.
None of the G series did (Actually G550 did, but only on their terrific flop "headcasting" feature).

There is a way to emulate TnL with a program called "3D Analyze", but it does not work well with all apps, and it is pretty slow, as the CPU is doing those functions.

i tried that 3d analyze on a few games last nite.

call to duty
indiana jones and the emporors tomb
halo

but no luck. it seems as though they don't really look hardware T&L but rather look up a list of supported graphics cards and if yours isn't on the list then it won't work.

i wonder if this can be hacked??

thanx again
