Anyone heard of KTOWN?

Not sure where this one goes...

There's a charge on my credit card and I can't figure out who it's from or why it's there. But the thing is, I haven't used this card in a month...so...

The transaction is KTOWN [1-888-phonenumber] FL, for $9.65.

The credit card company said it's a computer software store. I'm racking my brain, but nothing's coming to mind. I did a google search, and the only relevant thing that came up was ktown.kde.org ?

Ktown is a town in germany???.... google turn up anything for the number? if you cant figure it out, it will be worth your time to cancel the card and get a new one.

Well, they could be registered with the BBB...the name KTOWN didn't show anything but, I would do a search on the phone number....just go to www.bbb.org and act like you are filing a complaint. It will allow you to search for companies.

I've had 2 unknown charges on my Visa card that I got about 2 months ago. I had one at first and I looked at it on the web and was like WTF is this? I didn't pay anything to these people. I called the number and it was just BS where they said they would call you back. The day they closed the card and gave me a new one is when I got a 2nd unknown charge on there from some place different that I had no clue what it was. I got reimbursed while they investiage.

thanks for the tip Vass, but still nothing (wasn't found). Nothing on simple or complex google searches either, nor @ the BBB. Calling the number simply led to an automated menu system with two options: place a new order or cancel an old one...with both you had to leave a message. F* that.

My credit card company immediately credited my account for the disputed amount, closed the account, and will open a new account (w/o issuing me a card b/c I don't want one). They'll take care of the dispute, the lady said, b/c it's such a low amount and "activity on the card" has been nothing lately.

Somehow, while the computer was doing its thing w/ my account, me and the lady got to talking about cats. You know there's a 40-lb cat out there somewhere?
