Can't get wireless network to work again

I have a DSL modem connecting to a Netgear wireless router. I have 2 Win XP Pro computers connected through wires and up until yesterday I had one Win XP Home computer connected wirelessly through a Netgear wireless network card. It all worked great up until yesterday.

Until yesterday I hadn't connected to the network on the laptop for about a week. Yesterday 2 new Gateway laptops were introduced to the network. Suddenly I can not connect any of the wireless laptops to the network. The 2 wired computers work fine still. I have tried every possible combination possible to try and connect the laptops to no avail. The two new Gateways are indentical and have internal wireless network cards. Any body have any idea why I can no longer connect wirelessly?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Nope, tried that. The two new Gateways are brand new out of the box as of yesterday. All 5 computers connect wired beautifully. But the wireless just refuses to work.

please list the wireless network cards (model numbers)

the router you are using (model number)

if you have WEP and MAC address filtering

are you using windows xp wireless software or did you disable it

The router is a Netgear model # MR814V2, the external card on the original laptop is a Netgear model # MA401. I have turned the WEP on and off, neither configuration works. Same with the MAC filtering. Tried connecting with it on and off. Still no luck.

have u tried resetting the wireless router? I have a netgear wireless router and usually if my wireless stops working I just unplug it or reset it and it starts working again. Have u tried the other setting (can't remember the name) so that it doesn't use the router but directly connects to the computers through the networking cards?

Dang too slow

BTW I have the same router

Reset the router a few times now. SSID on and off. Neither works. I do have the wireless access point enabled.

Did u reset the router with the reset button or did u try it by unplugging it? I had this problem so I called Netgear tech support and they had me go into my router settings and change some stuff but it was just like the channels and some other minor things and I haven't had problems since. I will try to remember everything if u would like

This happens when I go to different wireless areas with my Win 98 laptop. What I normally do is run winipcfg -- release -- renew and it works... Not sure if XP has the winipcfg gui but that may be an option being as they are brand new and OTB..
