gf4 ti4600 odd problem

well I play counter-strike competitively, and I use a gf4 ti4600 as indicated in the topic. Well one day I started up cs and I it started freezing pretty often, so I ran some benchmarks on the card. And it scored 551.6 FPS on normal 3d graphics but 1fps on medium and complex graphics... I dont have any other problems with it in 2d or watching a movie or anything.... I've tried re-installing counter-strike, dling new drivers.... and frankly I'm desprate and I hope it isnt a hardware problem, can anyone help?

Welcome to the forum!

I hate to even mention it...but maybe a fresh install of windows is needed (though I know that can be a drag, lol)

---

is there anyway to see if it is running hot??

My old TI 4600 started acting funny of a while and I thought it was an OS problem until I was messing with the inside of my cause only to find the fan on my card had stopped working. Replaced the fan and everything is good again.

Check exactly what the Kid said, was playing C&C Generals on my 4600 and was like whoa! What happenned? The fan died.
Thermaltake has the exact one you need depending on the card. No need to remove the heatsink, not worth the risk. Just replace the fan. Five minutes and under 15 bucks, indeedy you are done.
