right click on the folder you want to access and click sharing. enable sharing

go to start run and type

type

\\computername\sharefolder name

i.e

\\groundzero3\music

to access your whole hard drive

\\computername\C$

you might need to put in the password and user name for the machine you are trying to access

are you trying to access a folder or the whole drive?

Sounds like the permissions for the drive haven't been shared with the rest of the folders. I have seen this before in XP Home. Just open Windows Explorer, and right click on the shared drive. Open the Security tab, and click on Advanced tab at the bottom. Select Everyone in the list that pops up (Permissions tab). Now check the box at the bottom that says "Replace permission entries on all child objects..."

Wait until it finishes changing permissions (could take a bit), then try accessing the share again. Should work now.

I think.

Cheers
Mick

Hmm, I was in WinXP Pro when I checked, so maybe that's not in winXP Home, not sure. There is a Sharing tab, though, isn't there? Does that have a Permissions tab at the bottom? Is all permitted?

Cheers
Mick
