Burnt CD Playing Slow

Hi all....I'm new to this board. Got something kinda weird happening and I'm at a loss at what to do. Hopefully somebody can offer some help.

I'm a dj and use Sound Forge to record audio mixes. I can successfully record my mix using Sound Forge (both 6.0 and 7.0). The mixes play back fine in Sound Forge and Windows Media Player. My problems occurs after burning the mixes onto cd's. I successfully burn the cd's but when they are played back on any cd player outside of the pc they mixes are housed on, they play at a much slower speed then they were recorded at. For example, my dance mix is around 130 BPM's....the burnt cd plays back at around 110 BPM's. The burnt cd seems to be perfect...has the entire mix and plays back without any skips or anything. The only problem is that tempo is much slower. I've used CD Architect and Nero (both the full and express version) and the same thing happens. I have tried 2 separate burners as well and experience the same thing.

Anybody have any input as to why this might be happening? Any help would be greatly appreciated as it is vital for me to get this problem fixed asap. Thanks!!

Hmmm this could be a sampling frequency thing. What are you recording it as? Is should be 44,100 hz and 16 bit stereo.

In sound forge 4.5 once you click the red circle to record you click new in the recording window to set the sampling frequency, resolution etc.

If you record something at 48000 and burn it like it was 44100 it would be a bit slower like you said.

BTW welcome to timo

Thanks for the welcome!

I just opened Sound Forge and I did record at 44,100, 16-bit, 2-channel stereo, etc. When I look at the properties of my saved file is 44,100, 16-bit, 2-channel stereo...etc as well so it seems like everything is matching up.

I appreciate your input!

Have you tried burning cds directly from sound forge ? Have you tried other burning software (nero...)?

Yeah, I did burn directly from Sound Forge, as well as with the regular version of Nero and Nero Express with the same result.
