Systems Can someone make me feel good about spending $99 for PCAnywhere when VNC is free?

Hi,
Like a dummy, I bought (after 3 glasses of wine) PCAnywhere for a discounted $99 bucks because I thought the $100 off was a great deal.

Then, after buying it, I found out I could have accomplished the same thing (I wanted to do) with free programs like TightVnc or UltraVnc. I actually downloaded them and they did everything I wanted the $99 PCAnywhere to do.

So, can anyone tell my my $99 bucks is not wasted? The 3 glasses of wine were not even that good to warrent spending the money foolishly!

Thanks (hopfully),
Bob

write it off to experience...we've all done things that we regretted (especially after 3 glasses of wine, lol)...once, long ago, I was really drunk..and I almost...well, im ashamed to admit it..but I, almost..well, actually I thought about..actually ....voting democrat. Yes I am ashamed but I did think about it.

If it makes you feel any better, I blew a $165 rebate cuz I waited to long to send it...so I wasted more than you....and I was sober when I did it!

I am running Windows XP... and to the response about waiting for rebates... welcome to my world... I am a 2 (or 3 at least) time loser on that area of stupidity.

Oh Well, the $99 bucks is being chalked up to gross stupidity (as I usually do research to see if there are like type products out there I can download (shareware and all that.))

How in the heck does Symantec get away with that... I know, I know... It is because there are a bunch of idiots like me out there biting the hook.
