Media So here comes the NEXT GENZ!

They are coming... mid-April from what I read. Is anyone out there ready for the next gens? I sure want to see the new benchmarks.

Will I get one? That is probably a no.... my 9800pro will last me until my next complete computer upgrade. I will wait for PCIexpress to fully take over, the new BTX motherboards to become mainstream, DDR2 to be affordable, and the next gens of 64 procs.

I wanna know what ATI will be calling their cards...it will be different for sure. Got me a 9700 Pro, so I dont see an upgrade in my future for at least two years. This baby will run the newest games (far cry) at highest settings, around 30-60 fps.

i wonder who will have the faster videocard.. ati or nvidia.

i heard that ati will have 12 pipes while nvidia has 16... i havent been keeping up too well so i dont know much else regarding the two.

i know that nvidia is naming theirs geforce 6800.. ati is still a mystery.

but anyway you cut it, it will be very interesting to see the two battle.. and see how my 9800pro stacks up against either of the two.

few more days... few more days...

it is a derivative of pci and will run with a much greater bandwidth than an agp 8x slot. correct me if im wrong, but i think u can have more than one pci express slot in a motherboard.... which if im right and if i remember what i read correctly, this lends to the possibility of using DUAL videocards like the voodoos of the olden golden days!

of course, i dont ever see myself spending $1000 on a dual videocard set.... so i dont see why im so happy.

boo.
