Want free POP3 mail support for your free yahoo account?

I just came across this, and would have killed for this program when I was using Yahoo! mail...

Quote:
Yahoo! Mail disabled free access to its POP3 service in April 2002. This resulted in many people (including myself) to look for alternative free POP3 services. But this exercise can be very difficult because of the fact that your Yahoo! Mail address could be with several people and informing all of them about your new email address could prove to be a nightmare.

.

So, YahooPOPs! was born. YahooPOPs! is an open-source initiative to provide free POP3 and SMTP access to your Yahoo! Mail account. YahooPOPs! is available o*n the Windows and Unix platforms.
http://yahoopops.sourceforge.net/

EDIT: Just in case you don't know what POP service is, it means that you can use your mail program, be it Outlook Express or Mozilla Mail or whatever, to check your Yahoo! mail WITHOUT paying their 'fee' to be able to have pop service.

That's ok. I'm sure it will still work when you do. (batch programming has been around since, forever... )

Yeah, like I said... This would have been a KILLER program when I was using Yahoo!.

I was one of those, um... more 'irate' users after they disabled the POP service. Now, I have SBC/Yahoo! DSL, so I get all the perks, but hopefully this will just save someone else the time(uggh!) of going through the cheesy webmail stuff, and be able to use a REAL email program.
